What is accreditation?
The accreditation process validates to the public the integrity of a school’s program and student transcripts. The goal of accreditation is to ensure that a school's programs meet a certain minimum standard.
Accreditation is a formal recognition, or guarantee, that college programs meet certain standards and provides quality education equivalent to the nation’s top accredited online colleges and universities. The accreditation process examines the entire school – its philosophy and goals, its community, its programs and services, and the facilities and financial stability.
Why accreditation is important to you as a student
Accreditation will provide you with the assurance, as a distance learner, that you will be able to attain the same educational outcomes as you would in a traditional classroom-based program.
Employers who offer tuition assistance will not reimburse your tuition if you attend a school that is not accredited.
If you intend to transfer credits from one school to another, you will only be able to do so if you attended an accredited school.
